Foggy nights, glowing lights
Song of the post: Endless - Happy Hollows
Of all the forms of precipitation, rain is my favorite (though I must say sleet and hail are tough contenders). I've always claimed that "mist" or "fog" are also beloved precipitation types, but Wikipedia tells me that mist and fog "are not precipitation but suspensions, because the water vapor does not condense sufficiently to precipitate." With this understanding, I will happily share last Friday's suspension exploration of the East Village.
Either I am incapable of understanding what the word "centered" means, or the World Food Prize building is not directly aligned with the Simon Estes Amphitheater. My hope is in the latter, while a little nagging voice suggests the former.
Mist does strange things to one's lens.
I wanted to capture how the neon lights glowed with the suspended moisture in the air. Big Lar's was the perfect subject for doing so.
And finally, a view that provides a #flashbackfriday to a day when Des Moines did not have tall buildings (Des Moines still doesn't have tall buildings...but it has buildings that are taller than its very short buildings.)
Note: Very soon I am going to buy a new lens, which should greatly improve the quality of my photos. Get excited.
